Abstract

In dieser Arbeit wurden metalloxidische Systeme mittels Infrarot-Reflektions-Absorptionsspektroskopie (IRRAS) im Ultrahochvakuum charakterisiert. Dies sind im Speziellen als Modellsystem für die Methanolsynthese die Adsorption von Kohlenstoffmonoxid bzw. Kohlenstoffdioxid auf ZnO (10-10) und als Modellsystem für die Farbstoffsolarzelle die Adsorption von Benzoesäure und Terephthalsäure auf r-TiO2 (110) und Ameisensäure auf ZnO (10-10).

Surface engineering has rapidly expanded in recent years as the demand for improved materials has increased. Surface engineering is a valuable tool for conceiving both surface and bulk properties, which cannot be achieved simultaneously either by the coating material or by the substrate material alone. Abstract

Some of the futuristic applications are nanotubes for electrically conductive coatings and to increase the rate of reaction of thermoset resins; organosilane dendrimer coatings; buckyball coatings for machine parts; and metals for conductive coatings in inks. The technology is limited to substantially specialized applications due to the high cost per unit volume needed to reduce the size of the particles and the need to add surface modifiers to prevent the particles from agglomerating. Recent research efforts focus primarily on the functionalization of the particle surface of the nanoparticles to make them more compatible with the coating resin systems, so that easy dispersion, low viscosity, and covalent bonding are provided between the particles and the resins.

Abstract

On the liquid 's surface, the molecules have fewer neighbors in comparison with the bulk volume. As a result, the energy interaction shows itself in the surface tension. Traditionally, the surface tension can be assumed as a force in the unit of the length which can be counted by the unit of Newton on squared meter, or energy on the units of the surface. The surface tension, implies the interface between liquid and vapor, which is an example of the surface tensions. The equilibrium between these surface tensions, decides that a droplet on a solid surface, would have a droplet form or will change to layer form. Abstract
