Abstract

The work presents a systematic analysis of a large-scale integration of electric and autonomously controlled vehicles with corresponding infrastructure in cities. A framework is formulated assessing transport-related, electrotechnical and economical parameters of the operation of a highly efficient but comfortable road traffic based on renewable energies. Simulation results show potential to replace local motorized individual transport entirely and to reach the targets of the energy transition.

Abstract

This work analyses the long-term impact of electric mobility on the energy system, and aims to support the decision making of actors in the European electricity system, which takes electric mobility into account. For this purpose the Europe-wide development of electric mobility and of the energy system are examined in an integrated way based on a model coupling. This allows to analyse the interdependencies of both developments in this model-based approach endogenously.

Der herkömmliche Innovationsprozess bei der Entwicklung neuer, nachhaltiger Produkte war in ihren Augen viel zu aufwendig und zu teuer. In der Automobilindustrie dauert er viele Jahre und verschlingt Milliarden. Wie ein radikal anderes Innovationsdenken zu bezahlbarer Funktionalität führt, zeigt die rasante Entwicklung eines ungewöhnlichen Unternehmens, das aus der Rheinisch-Westfälisch-Technischen Hochschule Aachen hervorgegangen ist und heute der Deutschen Post DHL gehört. Es ist eine e-mobile Erfolgsstory über ein Fahrzeug, das kundenspezifisch, wirtschaftlich, ökologisch, flexibel, sicher und zuverlässig ist.People love to challenge ideas at the start. Abstract

The model-aided cathode design for lithium ion batteries is presented, which enables a systematically minimization of loss processes and an increase of power and energy density. The cathode model is parametrized without values from literature by combining microstructure analysis via FIB/SEM tomography and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and finally validated.

Abstract

The roll-out of a high-performance DC electric vehicle supply equipment infrastructure is a key factor for the success of electric mobility. This work enhances existing control schemes for active rectifiers utilized in charging systems, resulting in minimized requirements for network connection. In addition, active power quality filtering is achieved. The proposed control concept is experimentally validated using a fast charger system.

Abstract

This book provides selected results from the accompanying research of the project CROME. Abstract

The present work describes a charging management with integrated charging optimization for electric vehicles that can be provided to a fleet by a fleet operator or to a group of private customers by a loading infrastructure operator. Aim of this charging optimization is the calculation of an optimized charging plan by considering the electricity price as well as hard capacity boundaries and user requirements. This charging optimization is designed and implemented within the scope of this work.

Abstract

In this work a newly developed techno-economic optimization model of a household system with electric vehicle (EV) is used to endogenously dimension both the PV system and the stationary battery storage system (SBS). It maximizes the net present values (NPV) of these two systems. The NPV are highly affected by the load shifting potentials of EV and SBS, electricity tariff design and further general conditions.
