A obra analisa a relação conclusiva expressa por meio das conjunções então e portanto, em dados do português falado nos países lusófonos. Para tanto, utiliza o aparato teórico da Gramática Discursivo-Funcional, modelo que privilegia a intenção comunicativa do falante ao fazer uso do sistema linguístico em situação de interação. A análise revela a existência de três diferentes tipos de relação conclusiva: a Função Resumo (que ocorre entre porções textuais maiores, para sintetizar uma explanação anterior), a Função Conclusão (que relaciona indiretamente duas orações por meio de uma premissa) e a Função Consequência (que relaciona diretamente duas orações, à semelhança de causa-consequência).

Il volume affronta il tema generale della famiglia con una particolare attenzione al suo rapporto con il lavoro, facendo riferimento a due categorie studiate dalle scienze sociali da differenti prospettive. L'opera è il risultato di una selezione fra i saggi ricevuti a partire dal bando della collana Hórisma “Famiglia, una prospettiva multidisciplinare” che ha voluto promuovere la riflessione di giovani studiosi – dottorandi, dottori di ricerca, assegnisti, ricercatori – disponibili a mettersi in gioco e a varcare i confini della propria disciplina, favorendo un confronto collettivo sui temi della famiglia attraverso la partecipazione a un progetto di approfondimento teorico ed empirico realizzato secondo un approccio multidisciplinare. I contributi raccolti hanno lo scopo di far emergere le trasformazioni che la famiglia sta vivendo evidenziando i processi di cambiamento della famiglia stessa e i rapporti che essa ha con diversi attori quali la scuola, le comunità di minori, il sindacato, le aziende e le istituzioni pubbliche.

Das Vertrauen von Patienten und Probanden ist eine unverzichtbare Voraussetzung für den Erfolg medizinischer Forschungsprojekte, die ohne die Erhebung, langfristige Speicherung und Analyse von klinischen Daten und Proben nicht durchgeführt werden können. Medizinische Forschung arbeitet heute überwiegend vernetzt in zunehmend größeren Forschungsverbünden. Entsprechend nimmt auch die Bedeutung von Datenschutz und Datensicherheit immer weiter zu. Die TMF hat bereits 2003 erstmals generische Datenschutzkonzepte für medizinische Forschungsverbünde veröffentlicht. Auf dieser Basis konnten zahlreiche Forschungsprojekte ihre Datenschutzkonzepte schneller erarbeiten und abstimmen. Die dabei gewonnenen Erfahrungen sind in die grundlegende Überarbeitung der generischen Konzepte eingeflossen. So trägt das neue Konzept der Vielschichtigkeit medizinischer Forschungsprozesse durch einen modularen Aufbau Rechnung und wurde zudem in einen umfassenden Leitfaden eingebettet.

The university classroom must henceforth engage students, and the classic lecture format alone might not be enough to do so. "Nettle’s book presents the results of five years of comparative ethnographic fieldwork in two different neighbourhoods of the same British city, Newcastle upon Tyne. The neighbourhoods are only a few kilometres apart, yet whilst one is relatively affluent, the other is amongst the most economically deprived in the UK. Tyneside Neighbourhoods uses multiple research methods to explore social relationships and social behaviour, attempting to understand whether the experience of deprivation fosters social solidarity, or undermines it. The book is distinctive in its development of novel quantitative methods for ethnography: systematic social observation, economic games, household surveys, crime statistics, and field experiments. Nettle analyses these findings in the context of the cultural, psychological and economic consequences of economic deprivation, and of the ethical difficulties of representing a deprived community. In so doing the book sheds light on one of the main issues of our time: the roles of culture and of socioeconomic factors in determining patterns of human social behaviour. ECG imaging was performed in humans to reconstruct ventricular activation patterns and localize their excitation origins. The precision of the non-invasive reconstructions was evaluated against invasive measurements and found to be in line with the state-of-the-art literature. Statistics were produced for various excitation origins and reveal the beat-to-beat robustness of the imaging method.

A reliable diagnosis of the state of motor development requires objective and reliable test procedures. As part of the MoMo Baseline Study, the motor fitness of 4529 children and adolescents in Germany was evaluated by using the MoMo Performance Test (11 motor and computer based tests). The data obtained served as a basis for the compilation of nationwide representative standard values. By using these values, it is possible to classify the state of motor fitness and follow its development.
